Former Tiger Announces Transfer Destination

Another former Clemson player has found his new college home.

Former Tiger offensive lineman Mitchell Mayes took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday evening and announced his transfer destination, revealing that he has committed to the Charlotte 49ers.

Mayes announced back on Nov. 29 that he had decided to enter the portal.

A native of Raleigh, N.C., Mayes played 919 career offensive snaps over 32 games at Clemson from 2020-23 with nine starts.

The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder played 350 offensive snaps over nine games (five starts) as a senior for the Tigers this season.

Mayes is a former four-star prospect who was ranked as high as the No. 29 overall prospect in the 2020 recruiting class coming out of Raleigh’s Leesville Road High.
