Woods wants to be Better than Last year

CLEMSON – As Clemson wraps up its second week of spring practice, the media was given an opportunity to speak with several players.

Earlier this week, The Clemson Insider, along with the rest of the media, was able to speak with Tiger defensive lineman Peter Woods.

Woods on head coach Dabo Swinney placing him at the defensive end spot to start camp. “Primarily that is where I am line up right now for the most part it will be a situational thing. Position versatility has been a big thing even throughout my recruitment, so it was not really something that surprised me.”

Woods touched on his personal goals for the 2024 campaign. “Just to be better than last season. I know a lot more things. I have been in the program and got a year in college football so just kind of that person that emerges as that defensive leader, telling guys what to expect but also talking about the things I have done and applying it.”

On new defensive ends coach Chris Rumph, “He just brings the energy every day. I probably say that is the biggest thing y’all probably know. He just motivates [us], he is a guy that you want to play for, that you want to go hard for just because you know how passionate he is about this game and about coaching us.”
