Former Tiger Headed to Detroit

A former Clemson Tiger is headed to the NFC North.

DJ Reader has agreed to terms with the Detroit Lions in what will be his ninth season in the NFL. He previously spent four seasons as both a Cincinnati Bengal and Houston Texan.

Detroit is on the rise after a playoff win and Reader is a boost to head coach Dan Campbell’s interior defensive line. The news was reported by Tom Pelissero. It’s a two-year deal that guarantees $9 million with opportunity to reach $27.25 million.

Reader spent four seasons at Clemson, becoming a captain as a senior. Following his strong Tigers campaign, he became one of the most respected defensive tackles in the NFL. He’s amassed 277 total tackles in his career and brings his veteran prowess to Detroit.
