Brownell Asked About Clemson’s Lawsuit Against ACC

Clemson head coach Brad Brownell met with the media Thursday afternoon ahead of the Tigers’ NCAA Tournament game against New Mexico on Friday.

Brownell was asked about Clemson University’s lawsuit against the ACC.

Brownell said he hasn’t been involved in it and is focused on the matchup with New Mexico.

“No, to be honest with you, I’m not involved in any of that,” he said. “There’s a lot of folks on our campus much smarter than me that are leading our university.”

“Graham Neff, our athletic director; Jim Clements, our president; our board — we have great leadership at our school. They’re handling that. My head’s been down; they’ve not called me one time to ask me my opinion. Thankfully I’m focused on New Mexico.”

Brownell was then asked if he has an opinion on the matter.

“No, it’s too important for me to be involved in anything like that,” he said.

Brownell’s sixth-seeded Clemson team is set to take on No. 11 seed New Mexico in Memphis, Tenn. on Friday in the West Regional. The first-round matchup between the Tigers and Lobos is scheduled to tip off at 3:10 p.m. ET on TruTV.
