CLEMSON – The Brown brothers have spent every step of their football careers together, and there’s hope that will continue at Clemson.
For the first time since Sammy Brown enrolled as a Tiger, his brother and 2027 linebacker Max Brown took a visit for Elite Junior Day. It was a special moment for him, being recruited so early and he got to see his brother in practice for the first time.
“It doesn’t feel like real. It’s like yesterday, we were playing backyard football, on the trampoline, playing football. Getting to mud fights rolling around in the grass. It’s crazy, but I’m really proud of how far he’s gone,” Brown told The Clemson Insider.
Clemson is a place Brown goes often, especially since he was visiting games in the fall with his brother. He described it as a “second home” and it’s a place that he would love to play at given the opportunity.
Brown mentioned it himself that it’s still “very early” but the fact he’s at the big recruiting days proves the coaching staff values him.
“It means a lot and shows that, hey, they are watching me and they’re prioritizing me,” Brown said.
He already holds two Division-I offers from Arkansas and South Florida, so there’s something in the Brown cooking making impressive linebackers.
Obviously the idea of playing at Clemson with Sammy Brown intrigues Max Brown and he said that he would “love to do that.” His goals are high, with aspirations to keep playing with his brother until the professional level.
There’s already a brother duo in the linebacker room with Wade and Drew Woodaz, the latter enrolling in the summer. Adding another pair already seems like a possibility.
For now, the Tigers remain high in his recruitment and the program means a lot to both he and his family.
“I love Clemson. It’s like a getaway. Like, we were going up there every weekend for the games. I was always looking forward to the culture and the people down in Clemson are just amazing. It’s like a little hometown vibe…you can really just see and feel all the culture and how special it is throughout the community,” Brown said.
With this visit in the books, Brown will be back on campus for the spring game to see his brother’s first action in Death Valley. He’s also planning to take part in the Dabo Swinney camp, but hasn’t decided on the one or three-day camp.
