Clemson Among Schools Standing Out to New WR Offer

Last week, a four-star recruit from the Sunshine State became the recipient of Clemson’s latest wide receiver offer.

Samari Reed of Monarch High School (Coconut Creek, Fla.) – a top-150 national prospect in the 2025 class – was offered by the Tigers on Friday.

“It was great to get a Clemson offer,” Reed told The Clemson Insider.

Reed is ranked as high as the nation’s No. 144 overall prospect in his class by Rivals, which ranks him as the No. 26 receiver nationally.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound junior got his Clemson offer from receivers coach Tyler Grisham.

What did Grisham tell Reed when giving him the news of his new offer from the Tigers?

“Coach Grisham was super pumped just like me,” Reed said, “and he basically said they give out the least offers out of everyone, so there are only a few players that have that offer in the country.”

According to Reed, Grisham sees similarities between Reed and a legendary former Clemson receiver who also hails from the Sunshine State.

“I play aggressive, I make good plays,” Reed said regarding what Grisham likes about him. “He says my game is like Sammy Watkins.”

Reed made his first visit to Clemson last month when he traveled to campus for the football program’s March 9 junior day.

“It’s a very great place with very nice people,” he said, reflecting on his trip to Tiger Town.

Reed has racked up more than two dozen total scholarship offers – a list that includes schools such as Ole Miss, Penn State, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Missouri, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M and West Virginia.

There’s a group of schools that have separated themselves from the pack at this point in his recruiting process, and Clemson is among them after pulling the trigger on an offer.

“Schools that are standing out are Penn State, West Virginia, Ole Miss, Kentucky,” Reed said.

“And yes, Clemson is in there too,” he added.

Reed, who also plays basketball, recorded 56 receptions for 1,311 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior this past season.
