Watson: ‘I Know Exactly What I’m Capable of Doing and Being’

Former Clemson star Deshaun Watson met with the media this week as the Cleveland Browns’ offseason program got underway.

Watson is coming off a season-ending shoulder injury in 2023, but the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback is expected to be ready for the start of the 2024 campaign, and he remains highly confident in himself entering his third year with the Browns.

“I don’t hope for anything. I mean, my expectation is super high,” Watson said. “And just like everybody else that is a part of this team, a part of this organization, fans – everyone has a high expectation, especially for me, being the quarterback, being the type of player that I am, being the NFL player I am. So, I think the expectation is high. I don’t think that is a secret. So for me, it’s go out there and perform very, very high to lead us to an opportunity to go get the ultimate goal. But first it starts now in the spring building that leading into training camp, taking care of our business in the division and then just see what happens when we get that opportunity in the big dance and see where we go from there.

“But that’s a long ways from here. We’ve got to focus on what’s right now and being present in the moment. But I don’t have any hopes. I know exactly what I’m capable of doing and being, and we just gotta go out there and have the opportunities to do it.”

Prior to the season-ending injury, Watson completed 61.4 percent of his passes for 1,115 yards and seven touchdowns with four interceptions across six games in 2023.

Watson went in-depth on his rehab and much more during his press conference this week. You can check it out below:
