TCI Recruiting Roundup: Goodwin Visits Top 100 Talent, More News and Notes

Wes Goodwin checked in one of the more heavily sought-after recruits in the country earlier this week.

Clemson’s defensive coordinator stopped by the school of 4-star Eric Winters (Enterprise, Al).

Winters is listed as a safety by the recruiting services, ranks No. 79 overall in the 247 Composite Rankings. He picked up one of the Tigers’ opening offers last June after working out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect currently has close to 30 offers, with Auburn, Georgia and Miami and Florida all scheduled to get official visits. However, Winters has not visited Clemson since last summer and has talked publicly about making a decision in the very near future, even before he gets to any of those officials.

That likely leaves Clemson still in the market for a LB in the 2025 class. One of the top targets was 4-star Jaedon Harmon (Rome, Ga), but he committed to Alabama on April 14.

4-star Kamar Archie (Hun School, Trenton NJ) is scheduled to attend Clemson’s big official visit weekend that begins on May 31. Archie, who ranks No. 221 overall, was on hand for the last junior day on March 9. South Carolina, Tennessee, Rutgers, Michigan and Oklahoma are the finalists, along with Clemson.

4-star OL target Michael Carroll (Central Bucks East, Pa), who picked up an offer from Clemson after an unofficial visit in March, was in Athens visiting Georgia today.

2025 in-state DB Cam Strong (TL Hannah) told TCI he hasn’t been hearing from Clemson as much in recent weeks. Strong made multiple game-day visits last season and was last on campus in December as the Tigers were prepping for the Gator Bowl.

2026 CB Braylon Edwards tells TCI he plans to be back in Clemson this fall. Edwards was on hand for the spring game last month.
