Reeves is now the latest transfer portal addition for the Tigers ahead of the 2024-25 season, joining former Boston College guard Jaeden Zackery and former Cincinnati forward Viktor Lakhin.
Brad Brownell and the Clemson men’s basketball program landed a major transfer portal addition on Thursday.
Christian Reeves, a big-time transfer center from Duke, has committed to the Tigers.
It’s a huge pickup for Clemson, which beat out Vanderbilt, Oklahoma and Florida for the former Blue Devil.
A 7-foot-1 big man, Reeves entered the portal in early April following two seasons at Duke.
Coming out of high school as a four-star prospect out of Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., Reeves was a top-150 talent and considered one of the better centers in the country. He was ranked as the No. 5 player from the state of North Carolina in his class by ESPN and signed with Duke as part of the 2022 class.
An injury limited Reeves to just three games with the Blue Devils last season and he would end up redshirting. As a freshman, he played in 13 games, including six appearances in ACC play, while averaging 1.5 points and 1.0 rebounds in 3.2 minutes per game and hitting 8-of-11 shots from the field for the season.
