Top-100 Recruit Gets Visit from Spiller, ‘Highly Interested’ in Tigers

While making his recruiting rounds in the Sunshine State last week, Clemson assistant coach C.J. Spiller stopped by the school of this standout defensive end in the class of 2026.

Fleming Island (Fla.) High School four-star Jarius Rodgers drew a visit from Spiller last Thursday.

“Coach Spiller’s visit meant a lot to me,” Rodgers told The Clemson Insider. “Seeing a coach that coaches a team I grew up watching every Saturday shows me the success that I’ve made and the work I have put in.”

Rodgers, who already owns a double-digit offer list, is ranked as a top-100 national recruit in his class by 247Sports.

Although it’s still early in his recruiting process, there is mutual interest between the Tigers and the 6-foot-5, 200-pound rising junior.

“I know that Clemson liked my film and they saw some things that I did that is needed at the next level,” Rodgers said.

“I’m highly interested in the Tigers due to the way they compete and the way the staff helps players get to be a better player and person. Clemson’s program is a dominant program and getting a chance to be a part of it would mean a lot to me.”

Rodgers has been able to check out some of Clemson’s campus in the past and see Death Valley in person, and he plans on returning to Tiger Town at some point down the road.

“It is a beautiful campus and has everything you need to be a student-athlete,” he said. “I do look forward to going back up to Clemson in the future because I love the gameday atmosphere and the traditions their football program has.”

Syracuse gave Rodgers his most recent offer in early April, joining schools such as Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Iowa State, Nebraska and Notre Dame on his offer list.

The Tigers will start pulling the trigger on class of 2026 offers this summer, and Rodgers would love to reel in an offer from Clemson moving forward.

“Getting an offer from Clemson would mean a lot to me,” he said, “because that would show that the coaches think that I have what they need to help them succeed in the future seasons for them.”

Rodgers is ranked as the No. 70 overall prospect in the country for his class by 247Sports, which considers him the No. 11 edge defender nationally and No. 13 prospect in the state of Florida for the 2026 cycle.
