TJ Wilcox is getting ready to camp at Clemson for the third consecutive summer, as he is set to work out on June 4.

The 2025 QB, who will be playing his senior season at Buford (Ga) has learned a lot during his first two experiences at camp, and this time he wants to not only show how far he’s come as a quarterback, he also wants to start building a better relationship with the coaching staff, including head coach Dabo Swinney.

“I really want to show my talent for the coaches, the coaches that are going to be there,” Wilcox told The Clemson Insider. “And get a word from coach Dabo maybe. I’ve been getting closer to God, and I really love the mission he has with God. Because every time I go, he talks to us as a person, and not as a player.”

Wilcox just transferred to Buford. It is the same school that OL commit Brayden Jacobs plays at, and Wilcox believes it is one of the best schools in the state when it comes to preparing you for the next level.

“Buford prepares you for college,” he said. “From the film studies, the meetings, to play calling, the playbook, just everything. The weight lifting, you can can tell that it prepares you for college. It isn’t like a regular high school.”

West Virginia, Delaware State and Alabama State have all offered. Air Force, North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central and Cornell are some of the other schools Wilcox is interested in. And he’s also had a little contact with the Tigers.

“Clemson has been sending me some graphics to my phone,” Wilcox said “I’ve been trying to get closer to Clemson and that’s why I am coming back to camp.”

After getting some positive feedback from Garrett Riley after working out last summer, Wilcox is anxious to show how much he has improved.

“He said he’s very impressed with me and my skills,” Wilcox said. “Hopefully after this camp, we can start talking a little bit more and build our relationship throughout my senior year.”

While he would like to have a decision made before the start of his senior season, that isn’t set in stone, but Wilcox knows he wants to go to a school that features an offense that best fits his skillset, and one in which he has a great relationship with the coaching staff.

“I really want to go to a school that fits me and my playing ability,” Wilcox said. “I don’t want to go to a school just based off a name. I want to go to a school where I feel loved by the coaches, where  I feel respected. Because a lot kids go to a school just because it’s a big school or just because it is their favorite school. I want to go to a school where I know I can play and showcase my ability.”
