4-Star WR Draws Comparisons to Former Clemson Standout During Camp

One visit to Clemson was all it took for Cederian Morgan.

The 4-star wideout (Benjamin Russell, Alexander City, Ala.) made his way to campus last Tuesday to work out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp. His performance was so impressive he left town with an offer in hand, becoming one of the first three receivers in the 2026 class to pick up an offer from the Tigers.

Being that it was his first time on campus, Morgan took in as much as he could during the short stay.

“Honestly, at the stadium, I like how they have the championship hall set up,” Morgan told The Clemson Insider. “And I didn’t know they had the big, ole lake.”

As for the camp itself, it was unlike most Morgan has attended. Clemson doesn’t do any combine stuff at their camps, which is a little different as opposed to how most college camps are run.

“It was a lot different,” Morgan said. “Most schools, they get you running the forty, combine drill and stuff like that. But with Clemson, it was a lot of individual drills, a lot of teaching, one-on-ones, and stuff like that. It was a lot of teaching and learning from coaches and current players and past players.”

The 6-foot-4, 210-poud wideout already has more than a dozen offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Florida, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oregon and Tennessee, as well as the one from Clemson. Yet he is still looking to add more.

Ohio State, Texas and Georgia are some other camps Morgan has been considering attending, as he is looking to get in front of some coaches at schools that have yet to offer.

However, among those schools he has already visited, there is one thing that stands out about Clemson.

“They make you feel like you are at home,” he said. “They treat you like a family. They just keep it real.”

And Morgan feels like he could fit in very well with what Garrett Riley likes to do on offense.

“They like to take shots to their big receivers, they throw the ball,” Morgan said. “They use their big receivers, use their size as an advantage and they like to take shots. So I feel like that would be a great place for me. Because I am a big receiver and I fit their plans.”

After watching Morgan work out, Swinney was more than complimentary of his outing, going as far as likening to the young receiver to a former Clemson standout.

“I stood out a lot with my size and my speed,” Morgan said. “The way I was going up and getting the ball, getting out of my breaks. Dabo, he’s really big on big receivers like Tee Higgins and Mike Williams. He said I was very smooth like Mike Williams, a tough receiver. He loved how I used my body and stuff like that. So I stood out a lot.”

While Morgan has yet to decide on any kind of timeline for making any decision, he does know that he is looking for a school that values relationships.

“Mainly relationships,” Morgan said. “I don’t want it to be like, you get an offer and then you don’t hear from the coach for awhile. A school that is a good spot for me, who fits my playing scheme and who just keeps up that relationship with you.”
