Much of the attention surrounding Clemson’s 66-20 win over App State has centered on the resurgence of the offense, but another big thing to come out of the game was how many reserves got into the contest.

The Tigers played more than 100 players in the victory, with a lot of younger guys on the roster getting a lot of work. including backup quarterback Chris Vizzina, who played the third quarter after Clemson scored touchdowns on its first eight possessions and took a 56-13 into halftime.

The substitutions started early, allowing many of the freshman to get their first action of the season. Running back David Eziomume and offensive lineman Elyjah Thurmon saw plenty of time, with tight end Christian Bentancur also getting his feet wet late in the contest.
