Former Clemson Standout Headed to Another NFL Team

A former Clemson standout defensive end is headed to another NFL team.

KJ Henry is reportedly signing with the Dallas Cowboys following injuries to key pass rushers Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Dallas is signing Henry to a two-year deal off the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad, and he will be added to Cowboys’ active roster.

A fifth-round pick of the Washington Commanders in 2023 (137th overall), Henry was claimed off of waivers by the Bengals in August, then waived by the Bengals but re-signed to their practice squad.

Henry has appeared in 12 games and made three starts thus far in his NFL career. In 2023 with Washington, he tallied 19 total tackles, four tackles for loss, two pass breakups and 1.5 sacks as a rookie.

An All-ACC selection for the Tigers, Henry finished his Clemson career (2018-22) with 147 tackles (28.0 for loss) and 13.5 sacks.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder has experience playing for Cowboys defensive line coach Jeff Zgonina, who was previously Washington’s D-line coach.
