Clemson WR Out for Season

One of Clemson’s receivers is facing another major setback.

During his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Dabo Swinney announced that Troy Stellato will miss the rest of the season with an injury.

“Stellato is out too,” Swinney said. “He’s done for the year.”

The redshirt junior suffered a thumb injury a couple of weeks back, and while he has tried to play through it, he will now have surgery.

“He tore his thumb, got to have surgery on it Thursday, so he’s going to be done. Tough break there.”

“He’s been battling for a couple of weeks. He’s been trying but can’t play like he wants to play.”

Stellato, who has battled through several injuries during his career, has 25 catches for 264 yards with a touchdown.

“He has been a great player for us, I think he has played the third-most snaps at receiver for us. He has battled a lot of injuries but kept getting up. Just kept getting up. I hate it for him, but just another part of his story.”
