CLEMSON — Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney gave the latest injury update on linebacker Wade Woodaz during his weekly press conference on Tuesday.
Woodaz was injured in practice last week and did not play in the Tigers’ win at Pitt last Saturday. Swinney reported after the game that the middle backer had a bad thigh bruise.
The Clemson coach said on Tuesday the bruise has improved.
“He is getting better. It has left his thigh and now it is down in his calf. Everything is draining for him,” Swinney said. “It was a nasty, nasty bruise. But he is better. He is getting better each day.
“We were hoping it would loosen up were he could be available (last) Saturday and he just could not get there. But he is much improved and, hopefully, he will keep heading in that direction.”
