Swinney Gives Latest Injury Updates to Key Starters

CLEMSON — Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney gave the latest status for injured Clemson starters Marcus Tate on the offensive line and safety R.J. Mickens.

Though Tate and Mickens were dressed, neither saw any game action in the 17th-ranked Tigers’ 51-14 win over The Citadel Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

The question is will they be ready for next week’s game against No. 18 South Carolina in Death Valley.

“They are still day-to-day,” Swinney said about the two starters. “They are not quite hour-to-hour, but they are close, closer. We are hopeful. We will see where they are on Monday.”

Clemson left tackle Tristan Leigh did not dress for Saturday’s game. However, he was seen hopping around and moving well on the sideline, as he tried to keep his teammates hyped for the game.
