CHARLOTTE — Here’s the latest information on No. 17 Clemson’s veteran defensive back ahead of the ACC Championship.
Tigers safety R.J. Mickens is expected to play for the matchup with No. 8 SMU at Bank of America Stadium Saturday night. He suffered an injury on the last play of South Carolina’s game-deciding drive last week and now he’s ready to roll.
During warmups, Mickens was out on the field stretching in cleats and went through his normal routine.
With Mickens in the lineup, the Tigers have the full detail in the defensive backfield which will be crucial against the No. 5 scoring offense in the country.
Clemson kicks off against SMU at 8 p.m., televised on ABC.
