CHARLOTTE — Here is the latest information on Tyler Brown’s status for tonight’s ACC Championship Game.
It appears No. 17 Clemson might be getting back the wide receiver when it takes on No. 8 SMU at 8 p.m., from Bank of America Stadium.
The wide receiver is out on the field working out and stretching. He is dressed and is wearing cleats. This is the first time he has been on the field warming up with his team since the Florida State game, which is the last game he played in.
Brown has missed the last seven games due to a foot injury that required surgery. He officially redshirted this season, as he only played in four regular-season games. He injured his foot in the first quarter of the Tigers’ win over App State on Sept. 7.
The sophomore did not play in the Tigers’ win over NC State on Sept. 14 and had just 1 catch for 7 yards against Stanford on Sept. 29. Brown played against Florida State, but he reaggravated the injury and had to have surgery.
Brown, who was a freshman All-American last season has just five catches for 30 yards this year.
He is eligible for any postseason contests and can still maintain that redshirt.
