A former Clemson defensive line target has hit the NCAA transfer portal after playing three seasons with this ACC program.
North Carolina defensive lineman Travis Shaw has entered the portal.
The 6-foot-5.5, 330-pounder was a starter for the Tar Heels and a key component of their defense.
Shaw played in 36 games across his three campaigns in Chapel Hill, collecting 51 total tackles (4.5 for loss), four passes defended and two fumble recoveries. As a junior this season, the Greensboro native posted 22 tackles (three for loss), a pass breakup and the two fumble recoveries.
A former five-star recruit, Shaw was ranked as the nation’s No. 20 overall prospect, the No. 6 defensive lineman and the No. 1 player in North Carolina for the 2022 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He was a four-time all-area and all-conference performer at Grimsley High School, where he tallied 260 tackles, 17 sacks, 62 tackles for loss, seven forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and six pass breakups over his 39-game prep career.
Shaw committed to UNC in August 2021, choosing the Tar Heels over his three other finalists — Clemson, Georgia and North Carolina A&T.
