The last season was a major learning experience for Trevor Lawrence and he’s honed his focus as the Jacksonville Jaguars’ franchise quarterback.
Lawrence played in just 10 games during the 2024 season, suffering a concussion and having AC joint surgery that ended his season. Injuries have plagued his last two seasons but it kept him off the field unlike last year’s valiant effort to keep pushing.
As the pffseaspm enters full gear, Lawrence spoke to the media and reflected on his biggest needs for 2025.

“It’s definitely challenging. Kind of looking at where I’m at and the improvements I made. I do feel like I’ve gotten better every year but the big piece of it is being healthy, right,” Lawrence said. “Being the franchise quarterback, I have to be out there, I have to be on the field and I have to be available. That’s difficult to not be able to do that.”
Lawrence described this part of his career as “a struggle” to get through but it added a different perspective for him. With his $275 million contract extension, the pressure is mounted for Lawrence but he knows his health is the biggest factor.
“You’re not going to limit everything but just doing my part to stay out there and not taking unnecessary risks when I need to be healthy for the season. For one play, you’ve got to weigh that…I think I’ve learned a lot through injuries and the different ways they’ve happened and how I can try to protect myself more becaause that’s the main thing I need to do,” Lawrence said.
Talent acquisiton will be a large factor for Jacksonville as will whoever takes over as the new head coach. Lawrence remains the cornerstone of the franchise and it’ll be key to watch how a new regime changes the fortune if the former Clemson Tiger can stay healthy.
