4-Star OL Target Set to Make Big Announcement

Clemson offensive line target Carter Scruggs is set to make an announcement on January 26.

While Scruggs made no mention of what the announcement would be, it’s possible the blue-chip talent will release a list of finalists. The 6-foot-6, 290-pound prospect made the post on the same day offensive line coach Matt Luke paid him a visit.

Scruggs recently told The Clemson Insider he was planning to visit Clemson for the Elite Retreat on March 8.

The 4-star talent, out of Loudon County (Leesburg, VA), picked up an offer from the Tigers back in the summer after working out at a session of Dabo Swinney’s high school camp. He then returned for the blowout win over App State in the home opener of the 2024 season.

“I knew it was difficult, that Clemson was one of the more difficult places to get an offer from,” Scruggs told TCI in a previous interview. “I know they like to take it slow, so no, I was not expecting to get an offer.”

Scruggs has more than 30 offers and also took in-season visits to Virginia Tech, Penn State, Oklahoma, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia and West Virginia.

Scruggs ranks No. 122 overall in the 247 Composite Rankings and No. 11 among interior linemen, He also ranks No. 3 in the state of Virginia.
