Knaak Named ACC Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Georgia Tech sophomore outfielder Drew Burress was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week, while Clemson sophomore right-handed pitcher Knaak was tabbed the ACC Pitcher of the Week for games played March 10-16.

Burress led Georgia Tech to a 3-1 record last week, going 9-for-16 at the plate with nine runs scored, eight runs batted in, five doubles, three home runs and three walks for an eye-popping 2.088 OPS. The sophomore hit a home run in three of the Yellow Jackets’ four games played, while also hitting multiple doubles in back-to-back games to close out the week. It marked the first time in his career in which Burress has recorded multiple doubles in consecutive games.

On the season, the Fort Myers, Florida, native is 3-0 with a 3.86 ERA, .181 opponent batting average against and has logged 44 strikeouts against nine walks in 25.2 innings pitched over five starts.
