TCI Recruiting Roundup: Latest On Two Bigtime 2027 Prospects

Clemson played host to a number of potential 2027 recruiting targets on Saturday.

One of those was five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson (Jesuit, Tampa, FL). The 5-foot-10, 210-pound blue-chip talent was also on hand for the Louisville game last fall.

Henderson hails from the same high school Wade and Drew Woodaz attended. Freshman offensive lineman Gavin Blanchard also went to the same school before transferring for his senior year.

Henderson is a good bet to pick up one of Clemson’s opening offers when the staff starts handing them out in June. He already has close to three dozen offers, including Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Oregon and Notre Dame.

Alabama, Southern Cal and Ohio State are each set to still get spring visits.

Henderson is currently considered the top linebacker in the class and ranks No. 25 overall in the 247 Composite Rankings.

Another name to know that was on hand was four-star quarterback Peyton Houston (Evangel Christian Academy, Shreveport, LA). He is one of the top players in the 2027 class, regardless of position.

TCI has learned that after practice finished up, Houston had an extended lunch with offensive coordinator Garrett Riley and assistant quarterbacks coach Tajh Boyd at a local eatery while he was on campus.

Houston already has close to 30 offers, with many of the big-name schools having already pulled the trigger. As a sophomore, Houston totaled 5,170 yards of total offense. His 4,480 passing yards are a 5A record in the state of Louisiana and he also set an NFHS record with 817 passing yards in one game. Houston was a sophomore MaxPreps All-American and first-team All-State.

Rivals ranks Houston as the fifth-best player in the class and No. 2 among all quarterbacks.
