CLEMSON — Who says the Clemson-South Carolina rivalry only lives in the state of South Carolina? Who says it only about football?

Not Hunter Tyson.

The former Clemson basketball star had a little fun with a Denver Nuggets reporter following Denver’s loss to San Antonio Wednesday night. As he was walking off the podium following the postgame press conference, Tyson noticed reporter Ryan Blackburn was wearing a South Carolina Gamecocks hoodie.

The following is their conversation on the matter. Let’s just say Tyson won this argument.

Hunter Tyson, Clemson product, points at my South Carolina hoodie:

“That’s an ugly ass sweatshirt.”

My reply: “Who did you guys lose to in the first round of the tourney again?”

Hunter: “did you guys even make the NIT?”

Blackburn was not the only reporter to post about the fun conversation the two rivals had.

Hunter Tyson stopped on his way off the podium to tell @NBABlackburn, who is rocking some South Carolina apparel, that his hoodie is hideous.

RB tried to talk some friendly trash. Hunter was ready for it and got ‘em again on the way out.

Tyson, who had 18 points and grabbed six rebounds in his start on Wednesday, was 3-2 against the Gamecocks on the basketball court during his Clemson career. He played at Clemson from the 2018-’19 season through the 2022-’23 campaign.
