Mississippi Lineman Visits Clemson, Picks Up Offer

Clemson handed out a new offensive line offer over the weekend.

Three-star Mitchell Smith announced the offer after visiting for the spring game. Smith also got a visit from offensive line coach Matt Luke during the contact period in January.

“His thing was being real with me, which I appreciated truly,” Smith told The Clemson Insider about Luke. “He just talked about my game. How Clemson is a great program and has an amazing culture there. Talked about where he sees me playing. What he likes and dislikes about me. I mean, just being very real, just a standup dude.”

The 6-foot-6, 310-pound recruit now has close to two dozen offers. Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Florida, Florida State and Southern Cal are just a few to have offered.

The next step would be getting Smith back for the big official visit weekend from May 30 to June 1. The Tigers have already secured commitments from three blue-chip offensive linemen and will take as many as two more in the class.
