Clemson’s co-offensive coordinators traveled separately in consecutive weeks to see Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Blackman four-star running back Master Teague.

Tony Elliott checked him out at his school on Thursday, following Jeff Scott’s stop there last week.

“I was glad to see him here,” Teague said of Elliott. “He told my training coach that he loves the way I look and the way I move.”

Teague is a legitimate offer candidate for the Tigers, who are using the ongoing spring evaluation period to look at several running backs and determine their direction at the position. Laurinburg (N.C.) Scotland County five-star Zamir White, a Georgia lean, holds Clemson’s lone credible running back offer to date.

In March, Teague announced his top 12 schools, divided into two parts. Auburn, Duke, Georgia, Louisville, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt made the list of schools recruiting him with an offer. Clemson, along with Alabama, LSU and Ohio State, made the list of schools recruiting him without an offer.

Teague is preparing to release a new, shortened list in the near future.

“My family and I are going to talk next week about schools in order to narrow things down,” he said. “We should have a top list then.”

Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee have all offered and are viewed as frontrunners, while Clemson and Ohio State would be squarely in the discussion should they offer. Notre Dame offered Wednesday and might get consideration, as well.

Teague is eyeing a summer decision, which could come as early as next month.

“I will decide hopefully sometime this summer, maybe June,” he said. “That is something we will decide next week.”

While Teague is in the stretch run of his recruitment, he said it isn’t too late for Clemson to jump into the mix.

“They are definitely showing interest in me, and it is definitely not too late for them,” he said.

Teague visited Clemson in March for its junior day. The Tigers would have ground to make up late if they pull the trigger, but present an attractive option.

“I like the culture that has been created,” he said, “and the ability to win at Clemson.”

As a junior last season, Teague surpassed 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns while averaging over eight yards per carry.
