The recruiting cycle has sped up significantly in recent years, as evidenced by the bulk of rising sophomore prospects in the class of 2020 that already have a list of scholarship offers.
Among the best of those 2020 recruits is Norcross (Ga.) Greater Atlanta Christian offensive tackle Myles Hinton.
Just 14 years old, Hinton stands at 6-foot-6, 300 pounds, while his strength and fundamentally advanced technique are uncommon for his age. He has great bloodlines as a son of former NFL offensive lineman Chris Hinton, who played 13 seasons in the league and made the Pro Bowl seven times. His brother is Chris Hinton Jr., a five-star lineman in the 2019 class that the Tigers are targeting.
So, it’s easy to see why major programs have made early moves for the youngest Hinton, whose double-digit offer total includes Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Southern Cal and Tennessee.
With three years of high school still ahead of him, Myles is taking things slow in his recruitment and not in a rush to name any favorites, at least not right now.
“Everyone is pretty equal,” he told TCI, “but things change quick.”
Myles has had the luxury of getting out and visiting a lot of schools early in the process. Clemson, Notre Dame, Cal, Stanford, Michigan and Ohio State are some of the schools he and his family have been to this year.

The Hintons made their trip to Clemson in March for the Tigers’ junior day, and Myles hopes to get back on campus.
“No plans as of now,” he said, “but I would like to go back.”
What stands out to him about Clemson based on his experience?
“I like the family feel of the program,” he said.
Clemson offered Myles’ brother back in January, and he recently included Clemson in a list of his top six schools.
Should Myles add an offer of his own from Clemson in the future, the Tigers could get heavy consideration from him as well.
“It would mean a lot,” Myles said, “because the number one program would think I’m good enough to play on their team.”
