A sophomore prospect with double-digit offers in tow made a return trip to Death Valley last Saturday.

Atlanta (Ga.) Marietta 2020 athlete Dawson Ellington visited Clemson for the Boston College game with a few teammates.

“The visit went very well,” Ellington told TCI. “I had a chance to speak with coach (Mike) Reed again. This was my third time on campus. I really like the new athletic facility.”

The football ops complex was under construction when the Tigers previously hosted Ellington for the Troy game last season, so Saturday’s visit gave him a chance to see the completed product.

“It was nice to see the bowling alley and nap room,” Ellington said. “Seeing the barbershop was pretty cool as well.”

Ellington (5-11, 184) is being evaluated by Clemson as a cornerback and had an opportunity to catch up with position coach Mike Reed.

“He said that he was glad that I was able to make it to the game,” Ellington said.

Louisville was first to offer Ellington when he was still in middle school. Since then, he has added offers from Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Tennessee and UCLA among others. Auburn extended his latest offer on Tuesday.

“I like all the teams that have offered me,” Ellington said. “I am interested in those that are interested in me. I understand and respect the process.”

Georgia Tech is showing interest along with the Tigers.

Where would Clemson stand with Ellington if it makes a move on an offer in the future?

“They would definitely be at the top,” he said.

Ellington transferred to Marietta from College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy over the offseason.

He attended Georgia Tech’s season opener against Tennessee in Atlanta and visited Louisville for the Clemson game on Sept. 16 as well.
