Clemson welcomed one of the country’s top sophomore wide receivers back to campus on Saturday.

Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley four-star Michael Wyman returned to Clemson for the Tigers’ 28-14 win over Wake Forest in Death Valley. It marked his first game-day visit to Clemson.

“Speechless,” Wyman told The Clemson Insider, reflecting on the visit. “I was impressed with the receivers, tight ends and team as a whole.”

Wyman (6-5, 190) previously visited Clemson in July, when he took a tour of the campus and facilities and spent time with area recruiter Robbie Caldwell.

He caught up with Caldwell on Saturday and had a chance to talk with receivers coach Jeff Scott, as well.

“Mostly coach Caldwell,” Wyman said of who he spoke with. “I met coach Scott on the field.”

What did he hear from the coaches?

“We talked a lot about my academic choices,” Wyman said. “I attend the school of math and science now. Engineer interest.”

Wyman, a class of 2020 recruit, already owns a scholarship offer from North Carolina. Schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Michigan, Tennessee and Virginia Tech are showing interest along with Clemson.

After his visit, the Tigers are in a good spot with Wyman early on.

“Speechless,” he said of his overall impressions of Clemson. “Very impressed. Definitely one of my top choices.”

Wyman is ranked as a top-20 receiver and top-100 overall prospect in his class.

So far this season, Wyman has recorded 12 receptions for 293 yards (24.4 average) and four touchdowns. He had three catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns in his team’s 38-6 win over Ben L. Smith on Friday.

Wyman transferred to Dudley from Northern Guilford over the offseason. Clemson defensive end Chris Register also hails from Dudley.
