Standout sophomore defensive back Keshawn Lawrence is on Clemson’s radar early in his recruiting process, and vice-versa.

The top-100 prospect from Ensworth High in Nashville, Tenn., wants to check out Clemson and intends to do so soon.

“I plan on visiting Clemson and LSU pretty soon,” Lawrence told TCI.

Lawrence (6-2, 185) is looking at Clemson’s game against Florida State on Nov. 11 as a potential visit date.

“I really just want to see the real Clemson, meaning, meeting all their coaches and seeing how the environment is throughout the school,” he said.

Lawrence received his first offer from Tennessee in 2016 before the end of his freshman year.

Alabama offered earlier this month, joining Georgia Tech, LSU, Memphis, Ohio State and the Volunteers on his offer sheet.

Offers figure to keep rolling in for Lawrence, who is getting interest from Clemson and many others.

“Although I don’t have an offer from Clemson I’ve always liked them,” he said.

What stands out to him about the Tigers?

“The passion for the game when they play, not only the players but coaches as well,” Lawrence said. “If I had an opportunity to be a part of that it would be another blessing, but I have to work harder every day.”

Lawrence made his most recent visit to Tennessee for its game against Georgia on Sept. 30.

As a freshman last season, Lawrence tallied 21 tackles, an interception and three pass breakups in 11 games. He is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 5 cornerback and No. 75 overall prospect in his class.
