SAN DIEGO — Clemson head coach Brad Brownell said Friday’s 79-68 win over New Mexico State in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament’s Midwest Regional was a big win the program.

Clemson got 60 of its 79 points from it three guards as Shelton Mitchell led the way with 23 points, followed by 22 from Gabe DeVoe and 15 from Marcquise Reed.
