Briningstool leads one-man Clemson TD drive

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Expectations were high for tight end Jake Briningstool coming into the season, and he’s finally showing his potential in Hard Rock Stadium. The Clemson Tigers were struggling on offense in the first half, but Briningstool led a touchdown drive all on his own in the third quarter.

On the second drive of the half for Clemson, quarterback Cade Klubnik found his tight end for a 50-yard catch-and-run. A play later, he went back to the well for Briningstool, who jumped over a defender to haul it in, but didn’t get his feet down. The good news is he got a knee down instead.

Briningstool came into the game with 125 yards and a touchdown. Against Miami, he’s more than doubled that with five catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns and still counting. With the score, Clemson takes a 17-7 lead and it’s time for the Tigers defense to pin their ears back against a backup quarterback.
