The Clemson Tigers took down No. 5 West Virginia 1-0 Friday night to secure a spot in the National Championship game. It was decided by a singular goal in the 37th minute, and it was a highlight of the season.
Shawn Smart, who hadn’t scored a goal in two months, received a pass on a give-and-go with Mohamed Seye. Smart took no time, connecting with a volley that curled into the corner of the net, giving the Mountaineers no chance to save it.
