The second set of College Football Playoff rankings in the 12-team playoff era have been released.

On Tuesday night, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee’s latest CFP Top 25 rankings of the 2024 season were unveiled.

Clemson (7-2, 6-1 ACC) moved up to No. 20 in the second CFP rankings reveal of 2024.

The Tigers checked in at No. 23 in the initial CFP rankings last Tuesday.

In the latest CFP rankings, Clemson is slotted one spot ahead of rival South Carolina (No. 21) and one spot behind Louisville (No. 19).

Miami (No. 9) is the highest-ranked ACC team, followed by SMU (No. 14), Louisville and then Clemson.

Tonight marked the second of six weekly playoff rankings shows televised on ESPN throughout this season. The CFP Top 25 announcements will go through the sixth and final reveal on Selection Day (Sunday, Dec. 8).

Of course, this is the inaugural season of the 12-team playoff format, which features the five highest-ranked conference champions, plus the next seven highest-ranked teams as determined by the CFP Selection Committee.

The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded one through four and each will receive a first-round bye, while teams seeded five through 12 will play each other in the first round on the home field of the higher-ranked team.

The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played in the New Year’s Six bowl games, and the national championship game will continue to be at a neutral site.

After seeing its playoff hopes take a big hit with an upset loss to Louisville on Nov. 2 at Death Valley, Clemson bounced back last Saturday with a 24-14 victory over Virginia Tech at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Va.

The Tigers will conclude both their 2024 road slate and their 2024 ACC slate this week when they face the Pittsburgh Panthers at Acrisure Stadium on Saturday (12 p.m., ESPN).
