After appearing in each of the first six games, Vic Burley has now gone four straight without playing a down.

Dabo Swinney was asked about the redshirt freshman’s lack of opportunities during his weekly press conference on Tuesday.

“Got to get better,” Swinney said. “Got to compete. Got to beat somebody out.”

In 74 snaps, Burley has three tackles.

“He’s getting better, he’s competing,” Swinney said. “Got to take advantage of his opportunities when they come. And he has got to stay healthy. He’s not been a very available guy for a lot of the year and he wasn’t very available at all last year. So he just has some ground to make up. He certainly has the ability.”
