Clemson Wins 11th Straight with Run-Rule Victory Over Indiana

CLEMSON – The Clemson Tigers dominated the Tiger Invitational tournament, finishing with a perfect 4-0 record after securing an 8-0 run-rule victory over Indiana in six innings Sunday at McWhorter Stadium.

Clemson (14-6) outscored opponents 36-10 while tallying 46 hits over the weekend with two run-rules.

Sunday’s victory extends Clemson’s winning streak to 11 games and marks its 10th consecutive home win this season. The Tigers also secured back-to-back wins over Indiana, defeating the Hoosiers twice in two days.

Clemson racked up 10 hits against Indiana (12-5) in the final game of the Tiger Invitational. Aby Vieria fueled the offense, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Ava Wilson and Maddie Moore each launched two-run home runs, adding to the Tigers’ dominant performance.

Brooke McCubbin made her sixth season start, securing her fourth win. She and the Tigers’ defense shut down Indiana’s offense, allowing just three hits across 24 batters faced. McCubbin went the distance, pitching a complete six-inning game.

The Tigers wasted no time getting on the board, striking in the second inning as Wilson launched a two-run home run, bringing home Vieira, who sparked the offense with a leadoff single up the middle.

Julia Knowler ignited a two-out rally in the third inning with a single to center field. With the bases loaded, Vieira delivered a clutch double to center, driving in two runs and extending Clemson’s lead to 4-0. Vieira’s timely hit also forced Indiana to make a pitching change in just three innings.

A 239-foot, two-out home run by Moore in the bottom of the fourth brought in Marian Collins, putting the Tigers ahead by six.

The Hoosiers made their third pitching change in the bottom of the sixth inning, bringing in Brianna Copeland.

Pinch-hitter Haylee Whitesides sparked the offense with a stand-up double down the third-base line to start the inning. Alex Brown picked up her first hit of the game, scoring Kylee Johnson to make the score 7-0.

Knowler capped off the game with a single to right field, bringing in Brown and sealing the win at 8-0 in six innings.
