One of Clemson’s top safety targets has trimmed his list down to six.
Four-star S Joey O’Brien (La Salle College, Glenside, PA) announced his six finalists on Thursday with Clemson, Oregon, Tennessee, Michigan, Penn State and Notre Dame all making the cut.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound recruit was last on campus in late March and has already announced plans to be at Clemson’s big official visit from May 30 to June 1. O’Brien will visit Oregon this weekend.

As a junior defensive back/wide receiver in 2024, O’Brien tallied 36 tackles, 13 pass breakups and an interception on the defensive side of the ball, to go with 68 catches, 1,029 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He also passed for a score.
247 ranks O’Brien No. 48 overall and as the fifth-best ATH in the 2026 class. He also ranks as the top player in the state of Pennsylvania.
