A veteran on the Clemson men’s basketball team has put his name in the NCAA transfer portal.
Clemson graduate transfer Alex Hemenway has entered the portal, The Clemson Insider confirmed.
Hemenway spent the last five seasons with the Tigers, playing in 95 games with 25 starts.
For his career, the 6-foot-4, 192-pound guard averaged 5.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and 43 percent from 3.
This past season, Hemenway was limited by injury to only five games, averaging 5.2 points, 0.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game on 38.1 percent shooting from the field.
In 2022-23, Hemenway battled plantar fascia in his foot most of the year, but appeared in 20 games and made 12 starts, averaging 24.0 minutes per contest. He averaged 6.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 50 percent from the field and 47.1 percent from 3.
Hemenway joined the Tigers as a three-star prospect in the 2019 class after choosing Clemson over Nebraska, Creighton, DePaul and Belmont. The Castle High School (Newburgh, Ind.) product was ranked as the No. 10 recruit in the state of Indiana.
Hemenway joins Jack Clark, RJ Godfrey and Josh Beadle as Clemson’s transfer portal entries, while the Tigers have picked up transfer commitments from Boston College guard Jaeden Zackery and Cincinnati center Viktor Lakhin.
